The general conditions and the rules of procedure form a whole forming an integral part of the accommodation contract and whose acceptance is compulsory before the conclusion of the sale. The reservation request entails adherence to these provisions and their complete and unreserved acceptance.
We are counting on you to respect these few basic rules of knowing how to live and knowing how to be.
In the event of non-compliance, we reserve the right to shorten your stay and, if necessary, invoice you for it in full.

Rules of procedure
General ethics
We are counting on your collaboration to
• Avoid leaving the lighting on unnecessarily.
• Favor reasonable use of water consumption.
• Allow the proper functioning of the individual sanitation system by throwing nothing in the toilet other than toilet paper, other waste having a bin provided for this purpose.
• Avoid mixing used towels with unused towels.
Behavior
The host has the freedom not to receive customers whose dress is indecent and neglected, and whose behavior is noisy, incorrect, alcoholic, contrary to morality and public order. Anyone wishing to stay at the guest house is required to make known their identity and that of the people accompanying them.
The guest house is not a place freely open to the public, and there may also be other travelers under the same roof: this is why we invite you to take advantage of all the places of life at your disposal in the conviviality and the respect of the intimacy of each one.
In the same spirit, we ask you not to be intoxicated on our site. We reserve the right to shorten your stay if this should not be respected and you will be charged in full.
Arrivals and Departures
In order to be able to welcome you in the best possible conditions, we welcome you between 5:00 p.m. and 9:00 p.m. on the day of your arrival (however, it is essential that you inform us the day before of the approximate time of your arrival). Late or early arrivals are subject to prior agreement. The nightly rental ends at 11:00 a.m., the keys must be returned at 11:00 a.m. If the keys are not returned at the time indicated, €10 will be charged per hour late. The rented rooms are kept for 6 hours following the date and time of arrival (5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.). After this period, the rental ceases to be retained and the amount paid remains with the guest house. The balance of the stay must be paid at the guest house.
Room occupancy
The customer may not introduce into the room third parties not known to the hotelier, unless authorized by the latter. Similarly, the customer cannot rent a room for a number of people greater than that provided for by the regulations in force.
Key management
The client can keep his room key with him. However, he must not entrust it to a third party and must be returned on the day of departure. In case of non-return, the guest house will charge 150€ and debit the amount from the customer's credit card.
Responsibilities
The customer must use the thing rented as a good father. The rooms made available to our customers are checked, functional and in good condition. Children are the sole responsibility of the client. It is forbidden to run or shout in the establishment, day or night. In the event of a problem, the customer will have to engage his civil liability.
Respect for the places of hygiene and safety rules Prohibitions
A decent attitude, full of restraint and discretion is essential in order to respect the serenity of the place. It is forbidden to introduce glass objects, to consume alcoholic beverages, illicit substances, and to smoke.
Noise, even during the day, is prohibited. The client causing disorder or scandal in any form, will be asked to leave the guest house immediately and without refund. In the interest of the tranquility of the establishment, all noise must stop between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. For the respect and rest of other customers, be careful not to slam the doors, do not use high heels on the stairs or make too much noise, particularly between 10:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. _cc781905- 5cde-3194-bb3b-136bad5cf58d_
For security reasons and for the respect of everyone, it is strictly forbidden to smoke throughout the house.
Any breach of health and safety instructions will result in the eviction without notice of any person whose behavior goes against these rules.
Food
The kitchen and the dining room are not left at the free disposal of the guests. Please note that breakfast is taken in the dining room or on the terrace and that other meals cannot be taken on site.
Likewise, it is forbidden to cook in the rooms, to take meals there or to bring drinks there, as well as to do your laundry there. It is also forbidden to store food in the room.
Small restaurants for all budgets are accessible in 10 min on foot.
Medical restrictions
Before any service, make sure that your state of health allows it. During the stay, cleaning will not be done in the room. The host cannot be held responsible, in the event of contamination during the stay of the occupant, being unable to verify whether the barrier measures, outside the establishment, are respected by the occupant. The host undertakes to put in place and respect the barrier measures as specified on the site https://www.gouvernement.fr/info-coronavirus, section "health instructions".
Pets
Animals are not accepted, except guide dogs for the blind and service dogs by prior agreement.
Valuables (jewellery, means of payment, etc.) must not be left in the rooms or in parked vehicles.
Terms and Conditions of Sale for Accommodation
PREAMBLE
La maison botanique is a brand owned by Rachel DUIGOU, a sole proprietorship registered with the LIBOURNE Trade and Companies Register under number RCS 820 463 164, whose registered office is located at 42 avenue Gambetta 33350 Castillon la Bataille, and which has taken out civil and professional liability insurance with Matmut.
DEFINITIONS
- La maison botanique: This term refers to: La Maison d’hôte La maison botanique
- The customer: This term refers to the person who made the reservation and/or the person staying at La maison botanique
- The stay: This term defines all the products and services provided by La maison botanique for the benefit of the customer
- Additional services: This term refers to all services not included in the stay
These terms and conditions of sale are subject to change at any time without notice. The information presented on this official website takes precedence over any information provided by our partners, including the booking and cancellation policy.
I – TERMS AND CONDITIONS OF SALE (TCS)
1-1 – General information
Acceptance of these terms and conditions of sale
Payment of the deposit implies acceptance of these Terms and Conditions of Sale (TCS) for our guest rooms, as well as your consent to the use of the personal data you provide us with.
These GTS apply to sales transactions concluded by La Maison Botanique with non-travel professionals.
We are committed to protecting your privacy and we protect the confidentiality of the personal information you have provided to us. This information is not shared and is only used for administrative and practical reasons relating to your stay (see GDPR below).
1-2 – Capacity
- All customers acknowledge that they have the capacity to enter into a contract, i.e., that they are of legal age and are not under guardianship or trusteeship. - By making a reservation request, you agree to these terms and conditions of sale and accept them in full and without reservation.
1-3 – Price Display
- Prices are quoted in Euros. VAT is not applicable, and tourist tax is extra. The prices quoted include only the services strictly mentioned in the reservation. Any additional services or personal expenses (extras) provided by La maison botanique during the stay will be added to the price quoted in the reservation when invoicing.
The prices listed on the website are subject to change without notice, and only the price indicated in the booking confirmation is contractual.
1-4 – Payment terms
The following payment methods are accepted: Cash (Euros), bank check – bank domiciled in France (payable to La maison botanique), bank transfer (exclusively in €), credit card, and vacation checks. Checks received will be cashed 7 days before arrival.
1-5 – Force majeure
- Force majeure refers to any event that is both unforeseeable and insurmountable and prevents La maison botanique from fulfilling all or part of its obligations under the contract. Unforeseen circumstances, as mentioned above, include, for example:
* Power or gas outages caused by the EDF (French electricity company).
* Sudden failure of the heating system.
* Fires of any kind (and resulting from any cause whatsoever).
* General mobilization.
* War or any other circumstance of any nature whatsoever beyond the control of La Maison Botanique.
- It is expressly agreed that force majeure suspends the parties' mutual obligations and that each party shall bear the costs arising therefrom.
- In particular, customers shall bear any additional costs that may be incurred to enable them to continue their stay following the occurrence of a force majeure event.
1-6 – Complaints
- Any complaint must be made to the botanical house within 15 days of the date of stay. Any dispute, complaint, or litigation relating to the terms and conditions of booking a stay or a guest room is subject to French law.
1-7 – Data Protection
In accordance with Law 78-17, known as the Data Protection Act, customers are informed that their reservation is subject to computerized processing. Users have the right to access and rectify the data entered. It is specified that this information is not communicated to third parties. The guest house offers Wi-Fi internet access. The customer-user undertakes that the computer resources made available to them will not be used in any way for the reproduction, representation, provision or communication to the public of works or objects protected by copyright or related rights, such as texts, images, photographs, audiovisual musical works, software, and video games, without the authorization of the rights holders provided for in Books I and II of the Intellectual Property Code when such authorization is required. For the safety of property and persons, the establishment is under video surveillance with recording in the common areas. Only in cases provided for by law is the release of images authorized.
II – RESERVATIONS
2-1 – Reservation conditions
For reservations made directly (excluding platforms), after receiving your reservation, we will send you a written confirmation by email and invite you to pay a deposit within a maximum of two weeks (but sooner if the reservation is made at shorter notice). The reservation becomes effective once the customer has sent the owner a deposit of 50% of the total price of the stay. The balance is to be paid upon arrival. By paying the deposit, you confirm your full and complete agreement with the general terms and conditions specified below. Please note that if the deposit is not paid within the specified time frame, the reservation will not be confirmed and we reserve the right to reallocate the rooms.
Customers are reminded that, in accordance with Article L. 121-21-8 12° of the French Consumer Code, they do not have the right of withdrawal provided for in Article L. 121-21 of the French Consumer Code.
2-2 – Conditions for interruption of stay
In the event of a shortened stay, the price corresponding to the cost of accommodation remains fully payable to the owner.
2-3 – Modification of a reservation
Any request to modify a reservation must be made to La maison botanique by email or registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt only.
The modification of a reservation is only final and definitive after receipt of confirmation by La maison botanique.
Requests for changes may result in the application of interruption and cancellation conditions, where applicable. The customer will not be entitled to a refund or compensation.
In the event of force majeure or exceptional circumstances, La maison botanique reserves the right to accommodate guests in a nearby guest house of a similar category, without any change in price.
2-4 – Cancellation policy
All cancellations must be made in writing before the arrival date: All cancellations must be notified by email followed by a confirmation call or registered letter with acknowledgment of receipt.
a) Cancellation before the start of the stay:
- If the cancellation occurs more than 3 months before the start date of the stay booked at the Maison Botanique, the deposit will be refunded to the customer.
- If the cancellation occurs less than 3 months and more than two weeks before the start of the stay, the deposit will be retained by the Maison Botanique
- If the cancellation occurs less than two weeks before the start of the stay, the deposit will be retained by the botanical house, which reserves the right to claim the balance of the total accommodation price.
b) If the customer does not arrive by 7 p.m. on the scheduled day of arrival, the botanical house may dispose of its guest rooms. The deposit will be retained by the owner, who reserves the right to claim the balance of the total accommodation price.
c)
NB/ The date of receipt of the cancellation request (by email or post) will be the date used for the cancellation.
2-5 Length of stay
The customer signing this contract for a fixed term may not under any circumstances claim any right to remain in the premises.
2-6/ Cancellation insurance
Cancellation insurance is available as an option. It is strongly recommended that you take out a policy.
2-7 / Arrival time
The customer must arrive on the day specified in their reservation, no earlier than 5:00 p.m. (time when rooms are available and keys are handed over) and no later than 9:00 p.m. Customers must notify us by telephone if, due to circumstances beyond their control, they are forced to arrive after this time (on +33 (0)6 15 40 97 73). No arrivals will be possible after 10:30 p.m.
2-8 / Departure time
Check-out time is 11:00 a.m. at the latest.
2-9/ Theft, damage, and deterioration
As the rooms have been decorated and furnished with passion by the owner, guests are asked to respect the items provided. Any unreported disappearance of an item will be billed to the guest at its replacement value.
The guest undertakes to return the rooms in perfect condition at the end of their stay and to systematically report—and pay for—any damage for which they are responsible.
Guests are reminded that minors on the property are the sole and entire responsibility of their parents or guardians.
La Maison Botanique accepts no responsibility for loss, theft, and/or damage or injury caused to property and/or persons on the property, regardless of the cause.
Any noise in the neighborhood related to a person's behavior may lead the hotelier to ask that person to leave the establishment without the need for acoustic measurements, provided that the noise generated is likely to disturb the peace and quiet of other guests (Articles R.1334-30 and R.1334-31 of the Public Health Code). . A guest room is a place of rest.
In accordance with Decree No. 2006-1386 of November 15, 2006, establishing the conditions for enforcing the smoking ban in public places, smoking will result in an additional charge of €90 or legal proceedings. Any false activation of the fire alarm due to non-compliance with this provision will be charged at €150 to cover the cost of resetting the fire safety system.
In the event of damage, the guest house reserves the right to charge the customer for the cost of repair or replacement. The same applies to any damage found after the guest's departure; the amount of compensation will be charged to the guest's card. In the event of intentional or unintentional damage to equipment, objects, or furniture belonging to the guest house, the host may demand full reimbursement with a penalty and damages of €1,000 to €2,000. In the event of flooding or water damage, whether intentional or unintentional, the guest house may demand full reimbursement for the damage caused. In the event of damage to other rooms, reimbursement for the other guests' nights will be demanded. The guest house may charge a cleaning fee of €60 if the room is left in a condition that is deemed unacceptable.
In the event of damage to bedding or bed bases, the guest house will require reimbursement for the damage, with a minimum charge of €1,500 for repairs and for the inability to re-let the rooms. In general, the customer will be required to pay for any damage caused directly to the guest house. They may claim on their insurance (if they wish to be reimbursed) for any damage, whether intentional or unintentional, caused during their stay. Any damage or nuisance caused intentionally or unintentionally must be paid for by the person who booked the room. Failure to comply with the rules, safety and hygiene regulations, and any damage or negligence that could cause direct or indirect damage to equipment, people, or future services, will be your responsibility and will be invoiced. You are responsible for your physical condition when accessing the premises and we accept no responsibility for any consequences resulting from the services provided. If you suffer from any health problems (circulatory, cardiac, or respiratory disorders, allergies, asthma, etc.) or if you are pregnant, please be sure to inform us. We accept no responsibility for physical injury or damage to property, loss or damage to jewelry, cameras, telephones, etc.
La Maison Botanique certifies that it is covered by insurance covering its professional civil liability arising from its bed and breakfast activity.
2-10Tourist tax
The tourist tax is a local tax that guests must pay to the owner, who then pays it to the municipality of Castillon la Bataille.
In accordance with Article L 2333-29 et seq. of the General Code for Local Authorities, the tourist tax is payable per night (per night per adult) from January 1 to December 31 inclusive.
The rate for 2026 is €1.01 per night per adult.
Applicable law
These General Terms and Conditions of Sale are governed by French law. This applies to both substantive and procedural rules. Any disputes shall fall within the exclusive jurisdiction of the French courts.
IN THE EVENT OF NON-COMPLIANCE BY THE CUSTOMER WITH ONE OF THESE CONDITIONS, THE HOTEL OPERATOR WILL BE OBLIGATED TO INVITE THE CUSTOMER TO LEAVE THE ESTABLISHMENT IMMEDIATELY, WITHOUT ANY COMPENSATION. THE CALL TO THE POLICE FORCES WILL BE IMMEDIATE IN CASE OF THREATS OR STATE OF MANIFESTE DRUNK
